Privacy policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026 (analytics added)
This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written in plain English and is short because very little data is collected.
Who I am
Dalriada Solutions is operated by Paul Logan, based in Cushendun, Northern Ireland. I am the controller of the personal data described below under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Contact: paul@dalriadasolutions.com
What I collect, and why
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address and message, sent through the contact form | To reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, arrange a call | Legitimate interests (responding to people who contact me). If you go on to hire me, performing a contract. |
| Emails you send me directly | To reply to you | Legitimate interests |
| Anonymous visit statistics: pages viewed, referring site, country, device and browser type, and whether the pricing section, contact form or subscribe button was used. No cookies, and no individual profile is built. | To understand which parts of the site are useful and improve it | Legitimate interests |
| Technical data such as IP address and browser type, held in the hosting provider's server logs | To deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent spam | Legitimate interests |
I only use your details to deal with your enquiry. I don't add you to a mailing list, sell your data, or use it for marketing you haven't asked for. I don't use automated decision-making or profiling.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not set cookies and has no advertising or cross-site tracking. It uses Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused service that doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect personal data and doesn't track you across other sites or build a profile of you. Your IP address is used only to work out a visit and is not stored. See Umami's privacy policy. The fonts are served from this site, so your browser doesn't contact Google or any other third party to display the page.
Who handles your data
- Netlify hosts this website and processes contact form submissions, which are stored on their platform and emailed to me. See Netlify's privacy policy.
- Umami provides the anonymous visit statistics described above. See Umami's privacy policy.
- My email provider holds the notification emails and any correspondence we have.
- Stripe handles payment if you subscribe, through its own checkout page. I never see your card details. Stripe acts as an independent controller of that data; see Stripe's privacy policy.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted after 12 months. If we work together, I keep the relevant correspondence and records for as long as the work continues and for the period needed to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that is wrong
- ask me to delete your data
- ask me to restrict how I use it, or object to my using it
- ask for your data in a portable format, where that applies
To use any of these, email paul@dalriadasolutions.com. I'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle personal data, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
